How to play Which Has More?

  1. Press the big yellow Play button. The game asks which plate has more.
  2. Look at both plates, or count them, and tap the plate with more.
  3. The numbers appear under the plates. A right answer gets a star.
  4. After a wrong tap, the game counts both plates for you, and you can choose again.
  5. Later the game sometimes asks which plate has fewer.

For parents and teachers

Before children can count well they can often see that one pile is bigger than another. This game starts there, with plates that are clearly different, and moves on to plates that differ by one, where your child has to count or look carefully. The words matter as much as the tapping, so say them together: five is more than three, two is fewer than four. The question about fewer comes later because it is harder than it sounds.
