How to play Count the Pictures
- Press the big yellow Play button. The game asks its question out loud.
- Touch each picture once. It gets a number, and the number is said aloud.
- Pick the button with the number you reached. The dots under each number show the same amount.
- A right answer adds a star. After a wrong one, the game counts the pictures with you and asks again.
- Press the speaker button to hear the question again.
For parents and teachers
Counting is one number word for each thing, said in order, and the last number said is how many there are. Touching each picture once is the habit that makes this work, so let your child do the touching even when they can see the answer, and say the numbers along with the game. When three comes easily the game moves on to five, then to seven and ten; the rows of five help a child see six as five and one more. Speech and sound need the volume up, and the Mute link turns both off.
