How to play Sort the Colours

  1. Press the big yellow Play button. Toys tumble onto the floor.
  2. Drag each toy into the basket of the same colour, or tap the toy and then the basket.
  3. Every toy put away gets a star. A toy in the wrong basket jumps back out.
  4. When the floor is clear, a new lot of toys comes out.

For parents and teachers

Sorting means grouping things by one feature and ignoring the rest. Here the toys are all different, so only the colour tells your child where each one goes. Ask why a toy belongs in its basket and let them say the colour. The same game works at home with laundry, blocks or cutlery, and later you can sort the same things in a different way, by size or by kind.
