How to play Rupee Shop

  1. Choose a level, then press Start game.
  2. Tap coins and notes to put them on the counter. Tap one on the counter, or press Clear, to take it back.
  3. Press Pay when the counter holds exactly the price.
  4. On Give change, the customer has paid with a bigger note: put their change on the counter.
  5. On Fewest coins, pay with as few coins and notes as you can.

For parents and teachers

Paying an exact amount means breaking a number into the coins and notes that make it, which is place value and addition put to work. Giving change is subtraction the way shopkeepers do it, by counting up from the price. Real coins and notes at home are the best follow-up: let your child pay for small things and check the change.
