How to play Fraction Face-off
- Choose a level, then press Start game.
- Look at the two fractions and tap the sign that makes it true: less than, equal to, or greater than.
- The chocolate bars show both fractions as shares of the same bar.
- After each answer the game shows why, for example 3/4 = 9/12 and 2/3 = 8/12.
- A game is twelve pairs.
For parents and teachers
Comparing fractions trips children up because a bigger bottom number means smaller pieces. The levels separate the two ideas, same bottom number and same top number, before mixing them. On the No pictures level, encourage your child to picture the bars or to rewrite both fractions with the same bottom number, which is exactly what the game shows after each answer.
