How to play Number Balloons

Press the big yellow Play button. Numbered balloons float up.
Pop the balloon the game asks for, starting with number 1.
Keep going in order: 2, then 3, and so on. A wrong balloon wobbles and the game tells you which number to find.
Pop them all to see the numbers lined up and counted, and to get a star.

For parents and teachers

Saying the numbers in order is one skill; recognising the written numeral is another, and this game joins the two. Each balloon says its number as it pops, and the row of numbers at the end shows the order your child has just made. Count along out loud. The rounds grow from three balloons to ten, two rounds at each size.

How it works

Numbered balloons bob about a fairground sky and the game asks for them in order: pop number one, then two, then three. Each balloon says its number as it bursts, and when the last one goes the numbers come back as a row along the bottom and are counted out loud, a number line the child has just built. One to three at first, then to five, seven and ten. The balloons are scattered, so finding the next one means knowing what the numeral looks like. A wrong balloon is not popped: it wobbles, and the game says what it was and what to find.
