How to play Maths Bingo

  1. Choose your questions: tap adding, taking away or times, then use the arrows to see the sets one at a time, from Single + Single, not more than 10, to Double × Single.
  2. A question is called. Find its answer on your card of twenty-five squares and tap it before the countdown ends.
  3. If the time runs out, that square is lost from the card for good.
  4. Five marked squares in a row, a column or a diagonal is a bingo. Three bingos wins the game.

For parents and teachers

Bingo rewards recall rather than working on paper: the answers are in front of the child and the questions are not, so the facts have to come to mind quickly. With eight question sets, the same game suits a child learning bonds to ten and one practising the times tables. It also works well as a family game, with everyone saying the answer aloud before the child taps it.
