How to play Four in a Row

  1. Choose your questions and a speed, then press Start game.
  2. Answer the question before the bar runs out.
  3. Right: choose a column for your yellow counter by tapping it, or move the counter with the arrows and press Drop.
  4. Wrong, or out of time: you miss your move. The computer then drops a red counter.
  5. Get four yellow counters in a line, across, up or diagonally, to win.

For parents and teachers

Every move has to be earned with a right answer, so knowing the facts matters, but where the counter goes matters too: a child has to look for lines of three and block the computer. It is a good game to play side by side, talking about where to drop next. The computer plays sensibly but can be beaten, especially by setting up two threats at once.
