How to play Maths Race

  1. Choose your questions and a speed, then press Start game.
  2. Wait for the lights to go green.
  3. Tap the right answer to drive your car forward. Ten right answers reach the finish.
  4. The red car drives on its own at a steady pace. Get to the line first to win.

For parents and teachers

A race turns recall into something a child wants to get faster at. The red car keeps the same pace every time, so beating it is a fair measure of progress: start on Easy, and move to Normal and Fast when the races are won comfortably. A wrong answer only costs time, so encourage a careful answer over a fast guess.
