How to play Shape Sorter

  1. Press the big yellow Play button. The game says which shape to post.
  2. Drag the shape on the floor into the hole that fits it.
  3. Or tap the shape and then a hole, or just tap the hole you think it goes in.
  4. The right hole swallows the shape and you get a star. The wrong hole knocks it back, and you can try again.

For parents and teachers

Matching a shape to the hole it fits means looking at its outline: the corners of a square, the points of a star, the curve of a circle. Name the shapes with your child as they play and find the same shapes around the house, such as a round plate or a square window. The game starts with a circle, a square and a triangle and adds a star and a heart once those come easily. Dragging is good practice for small hands; tapping works too.
