A line is fixed by a point and a slope. This course writes line equations in every standard form and finds angles and distances.

The course follows the NCERT Class 11 Mathematics chapter Straight Lines and has 3 lessons. Each lesson explains the ideas with worked examples and ends with practice questions and full answers. The numbers in every example and question are our own, so the lessons can be used alongside the textbook exercises.

  1. Slope and the Angle Between Lines, Slope and inclination, parallel and perpendicular lines, collinearity, and the angle between two lines.
  2. Equations of a Line and Distances, Point-slope, two-point, intercept and general forms, and distances from a point to a line and between parallels.
  3. Straight Lines: Mixed Practice, Twelve original questions on lines, angles and distances, with answers.

By the end you will be able to:

  • Find slopes and test parallel and perpendicular lines.
  • Find the angle between two lines.
  • Write equations of lines in standard forms.
  • Find distances from a point to a line and between parallel lines.
