The coefficients of (a + b)ⁿ are counts of choices. This course expands binomials and finds particular terms without full expansion.

The course follows the NCERT Class 11 Mathematics chapter Binomial Theorem and has 2 lessons. Each lesson explains the ideas with worked examples and ends with practice questions and full answers. The numbers in every example and question are our own, so the lessons can be used alongside the textbook exercises.

  1. Pascal's Triangle and the Binomial Theorem, Pascal's triangle, the binomial theorem for positive integers, expansions, approximations and divisibility.
  2. General and Middle Terms, with Mixed Practice, The general term, middle terms, particular coefficients and a mixed practice set.

By the end you will be able to:

  • Build Pascal's triangle.
  • Expand (a + b)ⁿ for positive integers n.
  • Find the general and middle terms.
  • Use the theorem for approximations and divisibility.
