A point in space needs three coordinates. This course sets up axes and octants and extends the distance formula to three dimensions.

The course follows the NCERT Class 11 Mathematics chapter Introduction to Three Dimensional Geometry and has 1 lesson. It explains the ideas with worked examples and ends with practice questions and full answers. The numbers in every example and question are our own, so the lessons can be used alongside the textbook exercises.

  1. Coordinates in Space and the Distance Formula, Axes, coordinate planes and octants, the distance formula in three dimensions, and practice.

By the end you will be able to:

  • Name the coordinate axes, planes and octants.
  • Locate points in space.
  • Find the distance between two points in space.
  • Test collinearity and classify triangles in space.
