New information changes probabilities. This course computes conditional probabilities, tests independence and reverses conditions with Bayes' theorem.

The course follows the NCERT Class 12 Mathematics chapter Probability and has 3 lessons. Each lesson explains the ideas with worked examples and ends with practice questions and full answers. The numbers in every example and question are our own, so the lessons can be used alongside the textbook exercises.

  1. Conditional Probability and Independence, Conditional probability, the multiplication rule, and independent events.
  2. Total Probability and Bayes' Theorem, Partitions, the theorem of total probability, and Bayes' theorem with applications.
  3. Probability: Mixed Practice, Twelve questions on conditional probability, independence and Bayes' theorem, with answers.

By the end you will be able to:

  • Find conditional probabilities.
  • Apply the multiplication rule.
  • Test events for independence.
  • Use total probability and Bayes' theorem.
