Proper Fraction

Def: A proper fraction is a part of whole.

Ex:

Here, whole can be divided into two equal parts, each part is denoted by   (Read it as 1 by 2 (or) one-half)

Ex 2:

Here,   (Read it as 1 by 3 (or) one-third)

Ex 3:

Here, (Read it as 1 by 4 (or) quarter)
