When raising a quotient (fraction) to a power, you raise both the numerator and the denominator to that power.
Formula: $\left(\frac{a}{b}\right)^n = \frac{a^n}{b^n}$
Examples:
$\left(\frac{2}{3}\right)^2 = \frac{2^2}{3^2} = \frac{4}{9}$
$\left(\frac{2}{x}\right)^2 = \frac{2^2}{x^2} = \frac{4}{x^2}$
$\left(\frac{x}{2}\right)^3 = \frac{x^3}{2^3} = \frac{x^3}{8}$
